This is the first jeep we have owned. We have previously owned several trucks (2 Dodges, 1 a 3500 with diesel), a diesel Suburban, various cars and we still own a Honda Fit.
We were looking for a change. We currently own a 30' Travel trailer and a 1 ton Dodge Ram with the 5.9 Cummins. We have traveled all over the US, many of those moves job related (US Navy, 18 years). So, after going tent camping for a week, we decided we were giving up the travel trailer for tent camping (at least until the kids are gone, and then we get the big 5th wheel). With no need for a truck, the wife expressed her desire for a Jeep. I started looking and was impressed with the 2012's improvements. So, after looking long and hard, we pulled the trigger with a 12 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara with the Auto and most of the features. I even had some stuff installed after the sale (interior lighting, remote start, etc). So far, this has been a great vehicle.
A little about myself: I am a modder. I have modded vehicles as long as I have owned them. I am a big diesel head, and will be again after the kids leave. I have published 6 paid articles for TheDieselPage.com, and have my own website for modifying the Honda Fit (www.fitmods.com
Looking forward to learning more about the jeep, and offering what knowledge iI have learned along the way in making the Jeep better!
