Hello from a Brit in Dubai

Hi folks,

Posted a thread the other day but it got moved to a trouble shooting forum so thought I'd best say hello again.

My stone white 2005 4.7 Grand Cherokee is giving me a fair bit of work since I bought it. Lots of jobs done and lots more to do. I spent years in the UK restoring classic British sports cars and this is a close as I can get to it living in the UAE, so I'm having fun.

I'm torn between bring the car back to perfect stock condition or getting it lifted by 2" and adding chunkier rubber. Any thoughts ?

Cheers, Stuart

Welcome fellow noob!
As long as comfort and drivability are not a concern, LIFT IT! 2" isn't much to affect it I don't think.

Re: Hello from a Brit in Dubai

Hmmm, that's the thing. 3 days a week I have a 120 mile round trip to a client site and over here the highway speed limit is 85mph, so if lifting affects comfort and drivability, perhaps it ain't gonna work for me. Shame.

Appreciate the info though. Cheers!

If you lift it with an OME lift, add an Addco rear sway bar, Billestein struts and, Monroe load leveler shocks you will not only not suffer from the ride it will be better than stock and handle better...

Re: Hello from a Brit in Dubai

Hey, I lifted my jeep 2" and drive the same highway (probably to the same clients ) in Dubai ... handling is actually much better (with the added bilsteins) and performing some tweaks here and there (sway bar / links) to get it even better ... check out the garage

Alright mate a friend of mine runs a new workshop in DIP, but mainly specialises in German cars. The guys near you, Offroad Zone, specialise in Jeeps and know what they are doing. Speak to Andrew. They can put the lift in for you. PM me and I can send you his number

Re: Hello from a Brit in Dubai

I like the look of a small lift on the GC's. Any idea what size tires you can fit under a 2014 w/ 2" lift?
