Hello from Mass.
Purchased 2011 Jeep GC Laredo X, Inferno Red and Dark/Medium Graystone, V6 with tow package and panoramic sunroof back in March. Just over 2000 miles on it so far (it's a daily commuter) and so far so good. Vehicle is replacing a 2001 Toyota Highlander that is now the son's beater car. Only regret was that we could not find a Jeep in the right color with the 430N package. We initially didn't care about the sunroof but now that we have it we really like it.
We looked at a number of SUVs before purchasing. The Jeep was the first one we test drove and the one we came back to. We did test drives of Japanese makes (Toyota, Mazda, Nissan) and the overall quality and fit/finish were not as good as the Jeep IMO.
We wanted a vehicle that could tow a pop-up camper but was nice enough for longer road trips. Went with the V6 because of the increased gas mileage, figured the 5000 lb tow capacity should be enough to handle a 2500-3000 lb camper. Will be interested in seeing how others with the V6 handle towing.
I will also be interested in how these vehicles do with reliability...last experience with a US make car was a 1993 Ford Exploder that was costing a car payment in repairs after only 120K miles and was starting to burn a lot of oil.
