Hi all, I just signed up and am browsing through all of the great information. I bought my GC 4x4 Summit Ecodiesel a couple of weeks ago and have so far enjoyed it, and seem to find new features every time I drive it (yeah I still need to read the manual). I traveled about 2.5 hours away to get the one I wanted and have been driving it around daily since buying it, and still haven't had to stop for fuel yet. Very happy with the fuel economy. The 4x4 seems to be a lot heavier than the 4x2s, so the turbo lag has taken some getting used to. I'm learning how to drive the vehicle so it doesn't shift too soon and lug in slow traffic, and it's learning me as well, so things are getting better and better.
I leased a new 99 GC Limited 4x4 V8 back when they came out and liked it, but this one rides nicer, performs similarly (acceleration) and gets more than twice the fuel economy. So far, the initial quality of the 2014 is much better as well, hopefully that will continue as I did get to know the service advisors pretty well (much more than I wanted) back in 99. We've also owned 2 Liberties (02 sport V6 4x4, 03 Limited V6 4x4) and had very few issues with them. I also still own a 2003 Ford F150 Harley Davidson Supercrew with the 5.4 supercharged motor. I love the truck and it has been very reliable. It will be still be my toy when I want to ruin tires and quickly burn through premium fuel, or haul plywood from the home improvement store.
I bought the 10 year warranty policy on the Jeep, so I expect to be around for a while
