Hello from Syracuse
Was clicking around looking for parts for some of my Jeeps when I came across this site in one of my searches. I'm already a member of the National Grand Cherokees but had never heard of you folks. Glad to have found you.
I was raised in the back of a Mopar since I was about 4 years old when dad came home with our '65 Dodge Dart two door post sedan, ala 225 slant-6. Many years later he would hand me down his '73 four door sedan Dart again with the reliable 225 slant-6 as a college and rock moble and that is when I started wrenching on my own mopars in '84 and haven't looked back since...
As you can tell I love Jeeps and Mopars of all sorts especially late '60's to mid '70's cars and More Full Sized Jeeps. We used to even own a '83 SJ four door Cherokee with 1st gen Select Trac (NP 229 T-Case) and a 258 straight 6, 999 tranny named Jack the Jeep or Black Jack. My friend Bill Houston was so impressed with old Jack that while I was busy with kids and my wife's career, he went and started an entire FSJ club and proudly owns his own '91 White 360 Grand Wagoneer swapping out from the YJ Wrangler I first met him in back in like '95 thru Jeff and the National Jeep Registry club. We hit our first trails together that fall day and Popped our Cherries in our Stockies as we like to say and a love affair with Jeeps and Good Jeep Buddies was started.
lately I've been getting my new for me '98 5.2 Limited tightened restoring the AC, new Walker Super Turbo along with other things. His name is R.E. after the handle and name of the ower who sold him to me Arrie from Rochester whose in-laws treated him to an STR-8 Hemi Grand a few years ago so he sold me his nice old Limited. Also trying to keep my older ZJ that is suffering from Rust Belt, Great Lakes cancer on the road as long as possible so as to Keep R.E. out of the Brine. It looks like hell but doesn't know any better to finally quit at 213K miles and no rocker panels left and missing front bumper from my one almost nasty winter accident in her a few years back.... Clean off with no real damage to the grill or Rad or lines, headlights... Other than the Fogs in the from air dam bumper assembly. Once we got her off the Guardrail (worst high side of my life for sure) which was a trip and some great flatbed work, I drove it home and never really couldn't.... Lucky!
Anyway, great to find you all here and hope to share tech and stories and get to know you all...
