Hello, Potential owner trying to gather info from PA!

Hi, I am currently trying to gather info about the grand cherokees to pick which one is right for me! So figured I would post up and say hello. I am 24 years old, from western PA, sick and tired of driving 2 seater roadsters all my life so I decided to check out the jeeps to have a luxury car with some performance capabilities.

Cant wait to make a purchase and be a part of the group!

Re: Hello, Potential owner trying to gather info from PA!

I hope to soon. I would love the srt8 but due to lack of justifying the price I am trying to get myself into a 5.7l hemi model, and trying to figure out used vs new and altitude vs overland edition (used one local to me for a good price).

I need to educate myself more so I can figure it out, I dont know if getting an overland edition is right for me since this will never really see offroading other than snow (which we get alot of).

You'd be hard pressed to find any grand cherokee used for off road.

Re: Hello, Potential owner trying to gather info from PA!

I am not really an offroad guy so I dont think it will ever see it, and I plan on lowering it with street tires haha.

But in all honesty I have a debate.

Do I buy a low milage 15 with warranty still left on it overland for $36-38k

Or do I buy a high milage (40k) 14 srt8 for 47-48k.

36-38k is what I consider my top price so for me spending the extra 10k is like a stretch but I mean I can do it, I just prefer not to do it. But I can see myself wanting the srt8 bad I just dont know if its worth the extras.

Do you guys have any pros and cons of each option?

Ask for opinions in the WK2 section, they're more than happy to give their opinions. But for what it's worth only your opinion matters, don't let all the crazy's convince you to buy something out of your comfort zone financially, they can be VERY headstrong with their opinions.

Re: Hello, Potential owner trying to gather info from PA!

I appreciate the warm welcomes! I test drove a v6 and realized I would have to go for a 5.7 hemi version. The dealer wouldnt let me test drive a 14/15 srt8 without doing a credit check so I didnt waste my time, I have been dedicating my last 2 years to building credit and have way to many credit runs because ive gotten to many new toys in the last year so I dont want to waste the credit runs unless they count haha!

I decided a srt8 14-15 would just be beyond my comfort zone when it comes to payments so decided to look for a used 14/15 with very low milage, a summit or overland. I will let you guys know what I end up going with
