Hello to all
Looks like a great group, lot's of knowledge. We got our 2011 GC Overland delivered in February. We ordered it in November 2010. Love the vehicle. Fun to drive. Ours is white w/black leather, adaptive cruise(cool feature). Lousy dealer and purchase experience though.
Ordered the vehicle with the 730N RHR. When it came in it had the 403N. We asked the dealer at delivery, they (salesperson and sales manager) both stated that 730N was no longer available and it had been phased out. We were obviously bummed, but since it was "no longer available" we decided to take delivery. The wife went to work researching on the web and of course found out that we had been fed a huge line of B.S. It was real easy we would have rejected that vehicle and reordered one. Didn't need the car then, still had 3 more at home. Initially the dealer refused to acknowledge the situation. After escalating to Chrysler they have agreed to swap the 430N for the 730N (RHR) at their cost. Problem now is that no one seems to know whether its compatible with the wire harness. Chrysler customer service has been trying to find out from the Mopar engineers for 2+ weeks with no answer. I would think its a yes or no. Our dealer says it requires an adapter that is not currently available and no available date. But they can't disclose their sources for this information, even to Chrysler customer service. Every other dealer we call says its fully compatible without the "adapter". We can't get resolution until we can determine (prove) whether or not an adapter is in fact required or every going to be available. The Mopar installation manual for the 730N RHR makes no mention of an adapter.
If there is anyone out there that knows whether the systems are compatible with or without a wire harness adapter or can point me to some official source or documentation that I can use to hopefully get this situation resolved soon. Much appreciated !!
