Help with Eco button on a 2015 JeepGC

Hello from Urbana, Illinois. I am a new member and look forward to a rewarding experience on this site. I am also new to the Jeep World. I do have a question regarding my new 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee..Does anyone know what the function of the ECO Button does? I have set it to on and off for the past 3000 miles and see absolutely no change in the behavior of the vehicle. The light does go on but that is all. Thank you all very much for your help and time..Jeffg

Re: Help with Eco button on a 2015 JeepGC

The owners manual should have a detailed description, but basically it's to help gas mileage. It'll shift a bit quicker and some other stuff, but variables such as outside temp can affect eco mode too. You can keep it on as much you want. The only time I turn mine off is for off-roading.

Re: Help with Eco button on a 2015 JeepGC

Thank you for your quick reply. I have read the owners manual and it states that the transmission will start in 2nd gear rather than 1st gear. It never starts in 2nd gear regardless if ECO is turned on or off. I just don't see any difference between ECO on or off. Other members claim to see a significant change between the ECO on or off

Re: Help with Eco button on a 2015 JeepGC

Mine rarely, if ever, starts in 2nd gear, but this could because of external variables. It's hot here, so maybe that's why? Also, I believe it automatically kicks on at 30mph.

Thank you for your help. Do you notice any difference in the way your Jeep performs with the ECO in the ON position...I just see no difference at all. I guess I should be happy, especially on long trips. I am getting 25 MPG..Jeff

Re: Help with Eco button on a 2015 JeepGC

I keep it on unless off-roading, so I don't notice it. Maybe turn it off for a few days and see how your mileage does.

Also, you might want to post this in the WK2 section; you might get more feedback.
