Hi from the left coast

1st post from a new member and a future Jeep GC owner
Please help me in choosing between overland and summit
Also having trouble on going 4x4 or 4x2 ? (don't really go off road much)
Leaning twords a loaded overland instead of a standard summit (help)
Are the HID Headlamps the same on the 2 models ? or is one better ?
Also, would you recommend the 6 reg. or diesel or the 8 for reliability/gas/etc.
Sorry for all indecision but I would like to make the right decision since I plan to keep it for a while

Looking forward to learning a bunch from all you experts
Thank you
Roman

Re: Hi from the left coast

Based in the UK, the Summit has addition HiFi upgrade, radar cruise, boot mat and if FY15 model, acoustic glass and noise suppression system (works like noise cancelling headphones). A small amount extra money for more kit made this a no brained for me and enjoying all the extras.

Sorry, we only get the diesel Summit, it is good, but I miss my old V8 5.7 Jeep for noise and instant acceleration off the line, don't miss the 15mpg however.

Re: Hi from the left coast

The 4x4 is pretty useful in wet weather and for that extra grip under power. I have a diesel, but there have been some problems with the DEF system in these in the US. So maybe the V8 if you can handle the fuel bill.

Re: Hi from the left coast

Its a system that injects fluid into the exhaust to reduce emissions. They have it in the states, but export models don't. So I'm not up with the latest on it, but there were problems with service messages coming up and also the harness was easily damaged. There is some info in this thread, perhaps its fixed now, some diesel owners are very happy:
Service DEF - See Dealer
