Hi from the UK

Hi all,

New to jeep ownership as of last night!

Just aquired a 1999 WJ 4.7 with 70k miles on it. Currently just needs some TLC - although in good condition typically the heating doesnt work (checked - yes the blend doors are broken so ordering new modified ones to fix for winter...). Going to do a full service - engine, g/box and diffs so i know (hope) i'll get some good milage out of them! New bonnet struts are already on their way too...

I also have a 500hp Mitsubishi 3000GT that i have modified rather extensively over the last year, thought for winter i would rather not risk driving around in that!

Im not gonig to mod this too much (other than subtle things to make it 'mine') but anything I do I will try and document so others may follow

Paul

Upon looking at a few of your mods... think the interior is going to have a little 'update' and get rid of the fake wood! Does look a little 70s to me! Think i'll have to change the headunit too - cant believe they were still fitting tape decks in the late 90s - still least it has a cd changer for the moment!

Thanks Paul. If you decide to for the carbon fibre, let me know and I'll give you the details on where to get it cheaper than anywhere else in the UK. If you're looking for parts let me know too. I have my sources

Yeah I know, but the tape deck is very handy for all those 'Now That's What I Call Music...' albums from my childhood

Paul, sorry to hijack your thread - StoneCold, I am also looking at getting rid of the wood trim in my car and going for the CF look. If you can also forward me details on where to get the goodies I'm going to need please....
Suppose I can't use CP vinyl on the Overland steeting wheel wood trim....?

Sure man, no problem. You might be able to source it near you, but I'm sure you could get it sent from over here. I'll PM you details.

I'm not sure about the steering wheel. I was going to do mine with the CF,but now that I've got the Alcantara I'm thinking about doing it with that instead. I'm definitely going to have to template the piece needed. Could be a lot of trial and error. Of course, there's a potential safety issue too, don't want it coming off in your hands while you're driving.

Something to look into.
