Howdy from another Aussie
just joined your "club" as a JGC owner from Victoria, Australia.
I have a 2006 WH Laredo with the 3.0 CRD engine. I bought it because it was a good package for towing our 2.5 tonne caravan without being as big and bulky as a Toyota Landcruiser but has the same towing capacity. I am happy with the performance and economy of the diesel and it gives a comfortable ride. In fact I prefer driving it to my other car, a 2005 Ford Falcon XR6. I was initially concerned with the softness of the suspension, but got used to it. I recently fitted Bilstein shockers (bought them from USA for half the local cost) which certainly improved the ride when towing; less pitching and bottoming and better rebound control. Otherwise not much difference. EXCEPT that they seem to have lifted the front of the vehicle more than the rear. Result being that it is now more level than the old stance of being a bit higher at the rear. The only disadvantage is that when the caravan is hooked up, it seems lower at the rear than before, but in actual fact it higher in front. I might add some air bags to the rear springs. Any thoughts on this?
Looking forward to reading other postings and learning from you guys..
