We kind of backed into Jeep-dom. When we bought a motor home in 2009 we also needed a "toad" or dinghy to pull behind it to serve as a runabout. The sellers of the motor home had the 2003 Wrangler Sahara which was already outfitted for towing. So we traded our GMC Envoy straight across for the Jeep. As a side note, in Washington state, on a straight trade with no money changing hands, there is no sales tax!
The current plan is to replace the Wrangler as a dinghy though not necessarily replacing the Wrangler itself, having come to enjoy its charms. I use is as my everyday driver for the few miles involved. My plan is to sell or trade the wife's Subaru Tribeca for a Grand Cherokee to use as a dinghy.
One question I have is, what is my Jeep's model? When I registered here it asked for model and presented a list of two-character codes to pick from. I looked on the title and there was nothing there that matched one of the codes in the list.
Looking forward to learning Jeep.
On edit: I think I answered my question above - based on model year my Jeep is a TJ.
