I'm a noob here at JeepGarage, but those that peruse other Jeep based forums in the internet may recognize my screen name. I have been pretty active over the years on some other forums, and now I look forward to meeting some new Jeep enthusiasts here & possibly connecting with some old friends too.
A bit about me & my Jeep background. I'm 46 years old and married for the second time (to a Jeep Chick this time!) and between "hers, mine, & ours" we have 7 children total ranging in age from 27 years old down to 2-1/2 years old. My wife & I both have our own (hers is a '93, mine a '91) YJs, the family vehicle is a '98 ZJ Limited 5.9L Grand Cherokee, our 18 year old son has a '95 ZJ 4.0L, the other 25 year old son has our old '99 WJ Laredo 4.0L Grand Cherokee, and I just picked up a '92 XJ 2-door Cherokee 4.0L 2WD to use while I do a frame-off build on my '91 YJ over the next year or two.
Our son who has our old WJ, also has previously owned an XJ, and another son has also had 2 XJs too, but is currently Jeepless. My parents also have had multiple Jeeps, from XJs, to ZJs, YJs, and now an '00 WJ Laredo 4.0L Grand Cherokee.
As you can see, we're a family of Jeepers and have been for a long, long time. As a result, we have our own 1-bay Jeep "hobby shop" in a commercial business park to work on our ever-expanding fleet of Jeeps. Our shop is complete with a service lift, every hand tool & air tool imaginable, and a tire changing machine & electronic wheel balancer, hydraulic shop press, drill press, parts washer etc. We part-out a few Jeeps here & there, and we also do a few odd jobs to help pay to keep the lights on in the place.
On another forum, I've done a TON of "how-to" write-ups from simple basic maintenance & repairs all the way to manual transmission rebuilds. I hope to pass along some of the things I've learned from the many busted knuckles I've received along the way, and learn some things from those other folks here who have walked down some roads I have yet to tread.
Well that's my introduction, and I hope to meet some of the folks here soon!
