Near future jeep newbie

I'm sitting here this morning, and I'm thinking, why is it that when you are in the market for a new vehicle, EVERYBODY got an opinion?? I've never seen so much jeep bashing in all my life until last night when some friends discovered I'm in the market for a jeep. "Nope, buy a Sequoia"....😕 Really? "Oh if you're thinking that price range, just get this small SUV or that small SUV, you'll be so much happier" "why not a Cadillac? They're sooooo nice" Keep your maxima" seriously? When I was shopping for a maxima, everybody said "OHHH get the Altima, same exact car, cheaper, better gas mileage, better everything, you'll hate the maxima" hmmmmm ok....
Sorry for the vent but if I was shopping for a Bentley I believe someone would say "wait, you're shopping for something that starts with a B? Oh ya gotta get a Bugatti then, hands down". Smh. Anyway, they didn't talk me out of my jeep. I believe my hubby was hopeful though. My mind is set. I believe I got asked five times, "have you even driven a jeep??" They're awful in the rain, they'll beat you to death, they're is NO sound barrier in them. You'll constantly feel like you're driving down a gravel road full of pot holes. I mean, for real? What gives?? It's like everybody thinks I'm stupid or something!! 😡 Thanks for listening/ reading lol.

I have wanted a Jeep my whole life, at 43 i bought one which wasnt exactly the one i wanted as the dealer talked me into something else but at 44 my daughter started driving and wanted my jeep lease so she took over the payments and in march i bought what i wanted which was a Hard Rock Rubicon and i LOVEEEEE it. i bought from Koons and it was best experience. I have had BMW's and Range Rovers and those probably rode better than a Jeep but i can now ride topless, doorless so let all the haters say what they want. i will say you will be super happy which is the most important.

Well if your driving down a road with 'pot holes' have the correct vehicle for the pot holes. I never listen to other for my decisions, YOU know what is best for you so just go do it. No auto is perfect in every way, like no person is an angel in all ways.

Yeah, always ALOT of opinions, especially with some who take offense if you don't take their word as law.
Only thing I can tell you is I have 4 Jeeps,my original Wrangler with over 200 k still running as strong and straight as she did from day one.A 2008 Liberty Limited I would trust to go anywhere, any distance.A 2011 Grand Cherokee Laredo, fully loaded with every option and a 2015 Grand Cherokee (only problem we had with that was the touchscreen issue that was fixed),my point being, every one of them has been uber reliable, fit and finish,to me,is great,no issues with any of them.Sure I'm a Jeep die hard, that's because I am VERY happy with the brand,it's a domestic vehicle and ALL are incredibly reliable. In closing,if you WANT one,GET one and ignore the naysayers, they are great vehicles.
Only thing I will say, don't let salesmen sway you,if you have a particular build in mind, whether your buying new or used(used they may have to search, but whatever you want IS available)stick to your guns.
When I bought my 2011 JGC I wanted specifically a Laredo, but I wanted a very specific build, wanted green, pano roof, black leather,uConnect, push to start, remote start, keyless entry, boy,I tell you,the dealership really wanted to sell me an "on lot" model, even offered to upgrade me,but,at that time there were unresolved Quadra Lift issues.Long story short,I ordered what I wanted and these years later,I have no problems and am a VERY happy owner of a great SUV.Hope you get what you want and ENJOY your ride!!!!!

Re: Near future jeep newbie

Thanks y'all! It feels good to be with like minded people lol. My nephew has had his jeep Rubi for about 6 years and wouldn't take all the money in the world for it. His wife just recently bought herself a Sahara , loves it, she traded her 2014 Mercedes for it. My niece bought her Sahara back in March and she told me the other night that she didn't know why she didn't do it sooner. Jeep is Jeep. There will never be another brand more consistent in my opinion. (0|||||||0)

Yay! Welcome aboard! A Jeep is the vehicle I've always wanted but didn't know it 'till I took the plunge and got one, I don't think i'll ever regret it, solid, well built, easy to work on and designed with good ol' common sense! Love it! Best wishes,

Jim.
