New Ecodiesel owner

Hi folks! I'm Jon, and I live in Georgia where I recently bought my new Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Ecodiesel. It is Maximum Steel blue/grey with the Offroad Adventure II package and sunroof. I like the two tone black/tan interior and the great gas mileage and power.

With all of the news about the shifters, unfortunately I'm having a separate issue with mine. If I hit a speed bump or turn left a message in the dash says "service shifter" for a few moments then goes away. It is the exact same situation as dtopa on this thread:

2015 JGC Overland 'Service Shifter' light

The dealer tried replacing modules, shifter parts, and checking all the connections, but to no avail. Unfortunately, I have to deploy for a few months, so I guess it will have to wait until I get back. I'd prefer not to "lemon law" the thing for such a silly issue, but I'm getting tired of taking it back to the dealer and I doubt the recall will fix it. I do like the look of the '17 trailhawk, so maybe I should just wait and trade in.

If it comes down to either trading it in or doing the lemon law, you will loose a lot less money with the lemon law. I don't know what it takes in Georgia, but in Idaho the law requires 3 attempts to fix an issue without success (documented) within the first 2 years. I would just make sure you are documenting each trip to the dealer in case you need it. If they get it fixed, great. If not you are covered.

BTW, Thank you for your service!

Re: New Ecodiesel owner

Thanks man! Yeah Georgia is the same with lemon law with three attempts which I have had: 1-Modules, 2-shifter assembly 3-complete check of wires/connectors. So I think that I am well within my rights to go that way. I'll wait until I get back and deal with it then.

There really is no other SUV out there that interests me, so regardless I plan on either sticking with this one or getting a '16 or '17 at some point.
