New guy bombing with questions

Hello! mhhhh what to say......a screw it.... I have few questions

My friend is planing to buy some Grand Cherokee. The first question is what is he buying

It says Grand Cherokee G, year 2000, 3.1L, 120KW. I searched over the internet to see if its V8 or 6 inline but i could not find the engine or the G mark... So can someone tell me if these is some European version or what?

Also about lifting. He is planing to lift it and put bigger wheels
The question im rising about it is not a lift kit but a transmission and how its gonna be affected. Putting bigger wheels means few things:
Speed gauge going insane (easy to re-configure)
Less power (problem)
Bigger fuel consummation (problem connected to power on wheels)

So how is it possible to shorten original transmission and how many people actually do these? (I hope that fixing final ratio will compensate that bigger wheels and return transmission in original state - power, torque, speed for each gear, etc...) And just to be clear, new transmission is out of question.

Re: New guy bombing with questions

Welcome to the garage.
The 3.1L engine is a 5 cylinder VM motori diesel engine from Italy.
Regarding the speedometer, donīt know if it will be that easy to reconfigure. The speedometer is electronic and it uses the signals from the rear wheel speed sensors to calculate the speed.
So maybe that someone who has bigger wheels can chime in on how he solved this.
