New guy with 2011 Overland 5.7
I bought a new 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7 after extensive testing of many SUV models. I have owned many Audi's in the past and the interior and detail was on par with the best of them (minus the paint). Was a very pleased and proud owner until about 10K miles when the transmission became an issue. I am experiencing, what I have since learned from Chrysler, is "fish bite" and "surge" in the transmission. I have had the Overland visiting the shop many times in the last 2000 miles, even had a tech from Chrysler looking over vehicle. They have changed the Torque converter, remapped the drive line and transmission software to only make things worse. I am disappointed since I really like this vehicle. Chrysler is working on a solution for the 2012 and 2013 model, but the 2011 model has a unique rear axle so no attention is yet assigned. Unfortunately, I will proceed with the Lemon Law in the state of Wisconsin, but wish it wasn't so. Would like to see Chrysler succeed. Any other guys out there having the same problems too? According to my local Green Bay dealer, there are 3 others in our area with same problem. Was not there when I purchased vehicle. Thanks for creating a site to work on issues and upgrades. I wish I just had more of a positive initial Jeep experience.
