Guys I recently aquired a 95 Jeep Cherokee Sport 2wd 4.0L, great condition but needing mechanical love.......she had been neglected under the hood.
Brought her home and jumped right in, started by degreasing the caked up engine bay to be able to see the sources of the oil leaks(valve cover gasket and oil sender later my enginge bay looks showroom condition). Weeks later electrical issues, battery was on it's last leg, replaced it and the cables, new starter, crank postion sensor, and ignition switch that randomly started to melt on the way home from the grocery store
guys nothing llike the smell of an electrical fire wanting to break out
get past all this......finally smooth sailing right!
Water pump goes out, new pump, t-stat, and cap.....back in business....now my temp gauge creeps up to the 200plus mark, sometime a tiny bit past half. Checked the fan relay, it's ok, the radiator looks fairly new can't find any leaks , but the reservoir is emptying out daily.
I've even gone to the extent of pulling the water hose off the neck and the radiator cap to fill it thru the hose at the highest point and burp the system and make sure it's full........mind bogling how the factory made the filler neck at a reverse angle....pretty absurd how do they expect one to fill this thing.
If you guys can shed some light on my cooling situation I would greatly appeciate the help
Thanks in advance
