New member from Pittsburgh
Hi fellow members;
I am a new member from Pittsburgh Pa. I had been a used car dealer for 48 years. Now that I am retired, I find myself going to the auction every once in awhile. I like to look for a vehicle that has an announced problem. First, they are cheaper, and two, I like the challenge of trying to figure out how to get the vehicle back on the road.
I came across this site in hopes of getting some problems solved and hopefully being able to help others who may have problems that I have already solved.
I am 69 years old and wish I had this kind of forum early on in my career. It restores my faith in mankind that there so many people out there that are willing to help others.
That said, I just got a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The speedometer will only go up to 20 mph even though the odometer is working properly. The needle on the speedo rests at 0 until vehicle is going about 30 mph. Then it will only go to 20.
I tried to recalibrate using odo reset button. Both speedo and tach swing up, The speedo continues not to function properly.
Should I repair cluster or would it be in the sending unit?
Any advice would be appreciated.
