Hello to all forum members. I have enjoyed reading many of your posts and in particular those relating to the JGC WK2 CRD's.
I thought by way of my first post I would provide a brief overview of our experiences with our WK2 Limited CRD.
We picked up our new vehicle 10 months ago, having moved on from a VX Prado 150 T/D, and in that time have clocked up 21,000k including approximately 10,000k towing a 2450kg full size van.
It is proving to be a very comfortable vehicle. The seats are particularly comfortable which my wife and I appreciate as we both have back niggles. The interior is wearing very well and to date we have no rattles or squeaks. I must admit that this was one area I was concerned about before deciding on a Jeep, but so far so good.
On the road the vehicle handles well, is fairly quiet and has plenty of power. On a recent 6800k trip (including 5700k towing our van) from Adelaide through NSW and Central QLD we managed 13.99l/100k. I tend to sit on 90-95k when towing. While this is our first towing a caravan, it seems to handle the job very effeciently.
The only negative point is the automatic transmission. It has developed a shudder on the 1st to 2nd up-shift and feels like it is slipping on the down-shifts. In addition the 4th to 3rd down shift is sometimes accompanied by a shudder and reluctance to shift down. The Jeep dealer has been unable to identify the problem using their diagnostic equipment and I am contemplating having the transmissin checked by specialist to see if they can identify the problem.
In summary, apart from the transmission, the Jeep is performing well and we are happy with it
