My name is Jim Shane and my 2007 Grand Cherokee Overland is the first 4WD or All Wheel Drive vehicle I have ever owned .... and I am 70 years old, retired and living in Meridian, Idaho. All three attributes I once doubted would ever happen to me.
This is my second attemp at an introduction as my first Intro had more focus on a question about wheels than introductory information and other astute members moved it to the correct WK forum.
I did a lot of things in my working life but the parts that might be of most interest to members of this forum are: 4 years with The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving; 5 years with The Skip Barber Racing School; 4 years as manager of Lime Rock Park race track in Connecticut and a variety of other performance /racing industry jobs.
Before getting into the racing business my avocation was motorsport photojournalism and I have had articles and/or photos published in Car and Driver, Road & Track, Motor Trend, Sports Car and Corvette magazines.
Now, in retirement, I am once again taking up digital photography. Most of what I have been doing is wildlife but there will be an old car project started later this year (barring unforeseen disaster). For anyone who might be interested you can visit my web site (if this isn't against the rules as it is NOT a site that competes with Jeep Garage) www.photobyjimshane.com
I bought the jeep so I can get to more remote wilderness locations in my search for interesting wildlife. I have already learned a lot from other members answers to my first two posts so I look forward to being a member of this group.
