New Member (long time GJC owner)
I just thought I'd make my first post and introduce myself. I don't do anything but city driving with my Grand Cherokees, but I've driven one since I got my license when I was 16 when my dad bought a 1996 JGC and gave me the keys to his 1993. I got a new 1999 when I went to college and I've been driving it ever since.
It's about time to replace the '99, which makes me sad, but it is falling apart, has 175k miles on it, and the airbags and anti-lock brakes are no longer functional (according to the mechanics) and the cost to repair is more than the car is worth. The car just isn't safe enough or reliable enough anymore now that I have a kid.
That being said, I'm excited about buying another one! I've got my eyes on the Overland, and am anxiously hoping that my current Jeep will survive until the 2014 comes out, since the redesign new and features are very intriguing. My budget, and wife, won't likely allow for many mods, but hopefully I'll be able to tweak it a bit to make it my own.
I love this site and have been visiting daily ever since I discovered it.
