New member super bummed

Hello everyone my name is Kevin and I have been coming to this awesome Forum for a few weeks now doing research on my HOPEFUL New 2016 Grand Cherokee High Altitude. Today is my first post here, today was supposed to be a happy day, today was supposed to be the day I picked up my JGC. A couple weekends back I went to my local dealership and test drove a JGC high altitude with a hemi and my wife and I basicly fell in love.
Since then I have been in contact with a few dealerships that have the exact vehicle we are looking for. after a couple weeks of wheeling and dealing we ended up going to that same place that we test drove because with the deal the offered they made it tough to go anywhere else. My wife and I showed up to the dealership right as they were pulling the freshly detailed jeep around and both of us were extactic because its just a beautiful vehicle. Before we go inside I take a couple laps around to realy check it out and everything looked great and at that time a sales man come out and said I'm guessing your Kevin. We talked for a bit and then went on a quick drive to the gas staton to fill her up. while in the gas station a am at the rear of the vehicle and saw that the driver side taillight had uneven gaps all the way around and the top left corner actual had dug into the paint and caused a decent sized chip. thought to my self **** do I realy want a brand new car with paint issues that might escalate In time? I showed the salesman and all he could say was hmmm. on the short drive back to the dealership he started showing me a couple things with the Navigation and it was acting up and not responding to touch very well so he pealed back the factrory plastic wrap to reveal a huge crack straight down the center of the screen. Now I'm thinking what the **** has the car been threw even if they are able to fix these issues I'm not having a good feeling on this car it might be cursed hahaha. But when we got back to the dealership we went straight to the sales manager to inform him of the issues. he took the jeep to the service tech and us to his office and left to go make a couple phone calls. He came Back a short time later asking if we would be interested in a different vehicle because Chrylser says it a Chrysler Warranty issue that they would need to be resolved at the factory so basicly the car was no longer for sale. So here I am back at it, I was hoping all this haggaling was over with.

Just be glad they dident sell it to you anyway and promise all the issues would be fully corrected to your satisfaction. Most dealers would have done that. You need to buy from that dealer if you can.

It's actually funny you say that. We left the dealership lastnight with the sales manager "working"on bringing us in another similar jeep from another dealership. Once 3 pm hit this afternon and I still hadn't heard anything I decided to give them a call. I was told they had been trying to reach other dealers but can't get anyone on the phone. So I made 2 phone calls to 2 different dealers and had no problem getting straight to the sales manager and talking numbers with both. I gave it a little longer and the original dealer called me back with an idea. He would replace the navigation unit in house then get us a loaner vehicle once the warranty claim was approved from chrysler and we would send the car back for who knows how long, and all this I might add at the original offer. He said there wasnt any more wiggle room in the #s. So at that point I Called back the next man in line and told him to prep the jeep I'd be there in 30 minutes. Now I would love to say I am a proud new owner of a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude. Pics to come soon.
