Well, it was a calculated risk... bought it at auction, hoping for the best, preparing for the worst, got something in between. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great.
The shop that did the repair basically did as little as they could to make it look good and sent it through auction. When I got it, I pulled the headlights and bumper and went over stuff. I had to put on all new bumper brackets, HID headlights (they put halogens there as placeholders... bastards), PS pump, condensor, PS cooler, etc. Not sure why they didn't do it right the first time, but whatever.
Hoping to have it on the road soon. I want to get the rash on the rims fixed and wrap em with some Toyo Proxes. It is not a beauty queen, but that is not why I bought it. It will be my commuter. I'll drive it like it is supposed to be driven. It looks sinister, which is why I love it.
I have only driven it a few miles thus far. Not bad, but not mind blowing. I have a Magnum SRT8 with CAI, tune, exhaust and thermostat, and am pretty sure it would walk the Jeep.... for now. Once I am sure I have a stable platform, I will start modding the Jeep a bit. I've always wanted a SRT8 Jeep... now I have one. It should be fun.
Here is a pic of what it looks like now. Sorry for the washed out pic... damn sun here in Nashville. I am still waiting on a bumper bracket, so the front bumper doesn't line up and fit snug like it should. I can't drive it til I get all the title work straightened out, so this pic was for that. The push snaps for the grill aren't even in it (only two to hold it for now).
