New member wk2, trolling for awhile

Hi everyone,
I just dropped my first post over on the thread regarding WK2 Snorkels but figured I would say Hi here. So it doesn't look like they'll be putting it out any time soon.

I have 2011 Overland edition, blackberry pearl with black interior. Mods so far just include 18" ATX artillery Teflon wheels with 265/60 Cooper AT3s (wish I had gone with 275/65s and cooper STTs) Mopar skid plate package, tow hooks, smittybilt beaver tail, and roof rack that I'm currently customizing.

I have the RRO pre-runner, bumper, and brush guard gimmicks on order with a winch too. I've taken this thing offroad a number of times already and I am very impressed with the capability of this "luxury" vehicle, as were all the peeps in Wranglers, Tacomas, and LR Discos I went out with last time.

WK2 for the win! I love this truck. My goal is to outfit it mainly for overlanding but with as much offroad capability as is practical since it is not my daily driver.

Jason

P.S. Im in CT if anyone is around and wants to go wheelin.

Sounds like an awesome build, but I can't say for sure until I see it! We need pictures!

Heres a couple while I was out on the trails in Mass this weekend. The rack isn't on right now as I'm modifying it. I bought one of the cheap $100 racks from amazon (can link if anyone is interested), and I added a number of Quickfist clamps to it to hold shovels, axes, walking sticks, and whatever else you want (im sure they'd hold a hi-lift). I'm also lengthening it to fill out the full top of the WK2, and will build some mounts to directly mount it to the roof instead of the factory racks and aftermarket crossbars I have on it now. I dont like the soccer mom look of the chrome factory rails anyways. Also will add lights to it before it goes back on the jeep. Finally, since I just discovered the lockpick from CoastelTech I will probably add a couple more cameras. I'll start a build thread soon and post a link here.

I'll post more pics in the build thread once I get the rack on.

Oh I'm also trying to figure out the best way to de-chrome the mirrors, probably will just remove the caps per the Jeep instructions and plasti-dip them for now too. The stuff is kind of cheesy but it obtains a good look for cheap and seems to be holding up well unless it makes hard physical contact with something (rocks, stiff branches, etc...).

Re: New member wk2, trolling for awhile

A couple more pics with the roof rack and lights installed, loaded up for a couple different trips. Went to Cape cod this weekend.

Still waiting on the Rocky Road Bumper stuff to come in, but I have the winch ready to install.

I ended up just sanding and painting the mirrors flat black, didnt plasti-dip. I think Paint is more durable. Anyways, Ill get some pics of the roof rack not full so you can get a good view of that.
