New Overland in Minnesota

Greetings! I ordered a new Overland JGC a few weeks ago.....to be delivered around Thanksgiving....I hope!! Mine is a Hemi V8, Stone White, and will have the Trail Rated package and the anti-collision package.

Have read so many good things on this vehicle.....and look forward to getting behind the wheel.

Coming from a GMC Acadia....I look forward to the improved trailer towing, V8 power and that luxurious interior!

My last Jeep was a Wagoneer....waaay back in the 70's. Glad to be on board.

Welcome! I ordered an Overland V6, Blackberry with off road adventure (18 inch wheels) on September 14. I'm still waiting and hope to have it by early December.

Welcome, Whats your opinion on the Acadia?

My wife loves them and really wants one if we can afford a nice used Acadia in a few years (after my WK is paid for). How Does the V6 do for the size and weight of the Acadia? Towing is not an issue for us because i will do any towing with my 4.7 Wk if we need to.

I had one of the first Acadias shipped into MN. It had a few glitches early on with build quality and TSB's.....but it has been a nice vehicle to drive....and I have about 90k on the odo now. The tranny was rebuilt once and shortly after the second tranny problem GM replaced it with a new tranny (at 70k). The steering gear went out after warranty....but GM stood behind most of it (a $700 steering gear!!! good grief). The NAV in mine sucks.....even major highways are not shown in some cases. We have a $200 Garmin that will outperform the $2000 Nav from GM. I have had two tire related issues....both with picking up a piece of steel on the highway into the sidewall...thus ruining the tire. The replacement tires cost me waaay too much. (like $400+) These special size tires are way too expensive....and must be some kinda collusion between the OEM and tire companies...IMO.

So.....the drive has been OK.....but I am not satisified with the performance of the vehicle.....thus my change to Jeep. Also the towing specs dont provide what I need....another reason Jeep caught my attention. The V6 engine seldom gets the kind of economy the ratings claim.....disappointing.

As far as the V6 being adequate for the size / wieght of vehicle......I think the engine has very good power and have not needed more for typical driving. Even when towing heavy loads the engine / tranny is sufficient to get the job done nicely for me.

But....would I buy another? errrrrr.....I'm buying a Jeep Overland.

Re: New Overland in Minnesota

Thanks for the info on the Acadia, we wont be getting one any time soon and by the time we are in the market to replace her car she will prolly want something different any way.

Re: New Overland in Minnesota

They are likely a fine vehicle. Mine was early production and I had a few problems...but it all worked out ok.
