Gday there. My partner and I recently purchased a 2012 Patriot.
So far all we have done is add ss door sills
although we have purchased a double din dvd/GPS unit.
..unfortunetly I am having issue in wiring up as (please excuse my terms used here lol) were advised the canbus wiring system required inline can box and steering wheel adapter... we were then advised buy two car stereo shops we require the following which was puchased...
KENWOOD DNX7310BTNAV -
STINGER CAN BUS INTERFACE (PACSWICAN2).
also of course --FACIA KIT and an ANTENNA ADAPTOR.
problem I see is we were told all we need due to way can bus sytems work is the CAN BUS INTERFACE (PACSWICAN2) to plug inline between existing Jeep stereo and steering wheel controller plugs and the new headunit.
As said, unfortunately , the CAN BUS INTERFACE (PACSWICAN2) does not fit inline (as we were advised as it wouldn't accept wires being spliced onto) or accept either of the sockets /plus ofg existing wiring or headunit. And, the can-bus instructions suggest wires are required to be spliced in line ?
Anyone share help here or which particular sub forum should I search first or repost or issue! thanks in advance guys and girls.
