New Summit

Hi All,

I recently stumbled across this forum while looking for some tips to blackout some of the chrome trim on my new 2015 JGC Summit 5.7 and I'm impressed by this collection of high quality content!

I'll try to post a pic as soon as I figure out how!

Edit: Got It -

Just bought a 2015 summit myself. love it. Already had the wheels painted gloss black by a body shop in town. They did a fantastic job! Next step: black out the Grand Cherokee emblems on the front doors as well as the Jeep emblems on the hood/tailgate.

Really excited to hear what you decide on doing. Keep me posted if you can!

I actually had the wheels painted gloss black just before taking delivery, can't believe what a difference it made!

Next I'm looking to black out the window trim, grill rings, and emblems - but I'm still considering how I'll go about it. There seems to be so many mixed reviews on vinyl, plastidip, paint or part replacement. Currently I'm leaning toward vinyl purely due to weighing cost vs durability but the one vinyl shop I spoke to thus far refused the job and recommended I have everything painted.

Which route are you thinking?

Re: New Summit

Welcome guys. I would recommend Vinyl. Any good Tint shop can do it if you dont want to have a go yourself there are plenty of threads about vinyl wrappingand replacing emblems etc. Not many fans of plastidip but it does give you an idea of blacking stuff out temporary.
