Northwest Newbie

Hello everyone - I'm in SW Washington and have owned 3 Wranglers, a Grand Cherokee, a Cherokee and my current problem, a 06 Commander. It went lean in Cyl 7 and eventually burned a hole in the piston (Towing a 4500 lb trailer 400 miles) Bought a new long block, put it in and it will not fire. All connectors are attached, I have 50 lbs oil psi and 55 lbs fuel pressure in the rail. It will run on starting fluid. New cam/crank sensors. I had all the injectors rebuilt so I'm figuring it is in whatever cools the injectors to fire. I've put in a half dozen or so motors in the past, but this injected / multi sensor is new to me. Ideas??

Re: Northwest Newbie

Welcome to the garage Joe.
The PCM (powertrain control module) is in control of the ignition and injection. The injectors get power via the ASD relay (auto shutdown relay) and the ground is supplied by the PCM. Are you sure that all fuses are ok? Donīt know the setup for the Commander, but there is most probably a fuse for the injectors, separated from the ignition power supply.

Re: Northwest Newbie

Fuses and relays under the hood are ok. I'll check inside fuses. There isn't any fuel related fuses listed, but there is one listed as "Ignition-Run Only"

Thanks -

Re: Northwest Newbie

Not sure what name they gave to the fuse, but it most probably is in the fuse panel under the hood. You donīt have a wiring manual for your jeep? The fuse should come after the ASD relay contact.

Re: Northwest Newbie

Swapped ASD Relay and a Fuel pump fuse (both underhood) no changes. I have the shop manual, but I think you have to work for NASA to decipher it. Joe

Re: Northwest Newbie

Fuel pressure was already ok and if the ignition works, the ASD relay is ok as well.
Is the manual in PDF? If so, you could send the wiring page(s) where the injectors are mentioned and we could see how to go from there.
