Old new guy.
Hello everyone, I have had a few Jeeps in my past. a couple WWII rejects, a CJ5, a 98 Grand Cherokee and now my '02 GC Overland. I bought the 02 new. every problem I have had with it in recent years has been a problem that a lot of other owners have had too. I have replaced the heater core, just did the turn signal switch change-out that made absolutely no difference in the randomly working left turn signal, but I may have found the "fix", in a Chrysler Town and Country mini-van site, that involves removing the flasher, opening it up, and re-soldering the terminals. Another post did that and also "tinned" the 7, or is it 9, blades on the flasher before re-installing it to tighten up the connections that seem to be the problem in a few of the fixes. I did both of these and haven't had a single problem but it has been only two days. Good luck on getting to that mother of a flasher. It is really up in there. I have half the dash apart and will leave it that way for a while just to have easy access to the flasher if I need to go back in there. I also just replaced the clockspring which it appeared would be the fix for my cruise control not working. it was doing the "cruise light" on and then dropping it off when I would try to set it, and also for my horn working only if it didn't really need to. I haven't putthe bag back in so I don't know if the horn is fixed, but I went out on the freeway and the cruise came on, I set it and it worked! However when I went to proudly show my wife, of course, it then went back to its old ways.I am trying to locate the reason for this and haven't yet.
