P0730 - Car goes to N when downshifting from 4 to 3 in JGC 07 3.6L Laredo - scary
Greetings Jeep Forum,
I'm a new member with a problem with my JGC and would very much appreciate any help you can provide. Here are the specifics.
2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7L V6 4x4 (Rocky Mountain Edition)
Mileage: ~14,000 miles
Vehicle Issue: Transmission will not downshift from fourth to third gear. Instead, it Neutrals out when trying to downshift to third. It gets back into (second??) gear when the speed is reduced significantly. This happens about 20% of the time.
Last summer we changed transmission oil (and maybe filter, I'm not sure) and the problem was solved for about a month and a half, before re-appearing.
Code: P0730 - Incorrect Gear Ratio
Please Note: The car is overseas and is only used for two months every summer. When we get there, we change oil and filter. Do I need to change anything else?
Thank you very much for your help with this.
