Possible new owner

Hi everyone. My wife and I are replacing her Acura RDX, possibly with a 2012+ Grand Cherokee with the V8 and tow package. We tow a 25' travel trailer (3,800lbs plus cargo), so I'm here to evaluate the GC as a tow vehicle. It's either going to be a Grand Cherokee or a similar Tahoe.

Deep, deep down I'm hoping we can find a GC that meets our needs. I love Tahoe's, but the GC are just so darn slick!

Re: Possible new owner

We went and drove a '12 Limited V8, Silver on Silver, yesterday and it was very nice. We then drove a '12 Overland V8, dark green on saddle, and absolutely fell in love. We were making a deal on it but the dealer had another offer and they took it. We weren't too heart broken, but we won't work with that dealer again. The good news is that there are several other Overlands with the same interior but 16k less miles in my area for the same price.

One question about the warranties. Both units we drove had 43k - 48k miles on them. The original 3/36 warranty would be expired, but wouldn't the 5/100 power train still be in effect? The dealer indicated that they were both as-is, no warranties, other than their dealer "certified" warranty of 1k miles. Both units were 3 year lease turn-ins.

Re: Possible new owner

We went from possible owner to new owner today :-)

We bought a 2013 GC Trailhawk, black on black, with the V8 and tow package. 21k miles and it looks like new. We are super excited! Now, the farkling begins. The immediate list includes:

Travail dog barrier
Canvas cargo cover
Towing mirrors
Brake controller

I'm trying to decide between a new controller and reusing my 1 year old Prodigy. I need to see about mounting it and deciding if I want to go higher end.
