Quadra Lift failed at 426 miles

We just purchased a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 3.0 L EcoDiesel, which was delivered (driven) to us three weeks ago, with 250 miles. At 426 miles, my husband got a "service air suspension immediately" message and the back of the car went down, while he was driving. He drove very slowly home, and we will have it towed to a dealership tomorrow. We are shocked, as we purchased a new car, so that we would have reliable transportation. Thankfully, we hadn't sold the 11-year old 3rd car yet! We haven't owned a Jeep for several years, but loved the first 2 we had (did not have the air suspension). Even after it's "fixed" in a week or two, not sure I'll be driving it for a long time. Of course, some people only post when they are unhappy, but, in our case, we are looking for any help or suggestions. I'm not even sure what we can do at this point. Our confidence in the Jeep is definitely shaken.

Try not to worry about it too much.

It is likely a component had a manufacturing defect. It is also likely that it will be repaired under warranty and it will not happen again.

Re: Quadra Lift failed at 426 miles

I just wanted to let you know what the dealer said was wrong with our Jeep. The brief version (and not quoting the dealership): Apparently, during manufacturing, someone forgot (human error) to put the bracket mount on, that supports the four lines, each one going to a different tire in the air suspension. Three lines wore through, causing the three (out of four obviously) to drop. Those are my words and understanding of it.

That's actually good news. It is much worse when the issue isn't obvious.

Hope you have many happy years and miles with your Jeep.
