Re: So this is where you've all gone...

Thanks Matt, great to be here!!!

Dylan: That arm rest is crazy, no way in hell would I pay that!
The steering wheel cost is mad too, but you can actually just purchase the 'outer' and fit it to the standard airbag section - hopefully thats the price for the full unit?!

Hannes: Yeah, they reminded me of the Toyo Proxy Rs I had on my last car. Love that tread pattern!

Thanks Marcus and good to see ya again!

Re: So this is where you've all gone...

I'd like that steering wheel as a whole, cuz my center cover thingy is all weird, it's like the dealer put armoral on it and it was never taken off so it got all chalky or something.

Re: So this is where you've all gone...

That sucks man....

According to WJJeeps that part number (YF791DVAB) is for the "Steering wheel and rear bezel only, does not include airbag, airbag cover, switches or wiring".

Airbag covers start at $157 and go to $279 depending on color / model year.

See this page.

Re: So this is where you've all gone...

the interior color of mine is Agate, it'd be sweet to get a color center wheel cover that is closer to my seat. In other words, a two tone steering wheel!

Re: So this is where you've all gone...

Just be prepared to spend some mad money Dylan....I bet your something like what you're mentioning could easily be more than $1000. And then you still have to have it installed!!!

Yeah....I wanted to some Proxes ST's for my SRT8's soo bad, but couldn't find any. I should have gone with some Hankook Ventus's, they had a similar tread design. But, I went with the Falkens....they are great tires tho....

How do you like the SuperChips Marty??

I'll probably just wait until I find something tasty in the scrap yard, everything is like 85% cheaper there.

Re: So this is where you've all gone...

Dylan: Good luck finding something in the scrap yard, I honestly think that'd be your best bet. I mean $1k up for a steering wheel, you could buy so much more for that! How about trying to find a place that will re-leather the wheel and just buy the airbag cover shouldn't cost half that.

Hannes: I could only find the Proxes in 275/40/20 which would only increase fender gaps - big no no!

I really like the chip, I have the older tuner but the engine seems to climb up the RPMs much faster and the shifts are better too - I'd assume the new one is even better?
Not sure how it will respond to additional parts over stock tho ('08 intake, bigger TB, KRC cams etc) but I've not got them yet so I'll find out later!

Re: So this is where you've all gone...

I got my air bag (you cant buy just the cover) on Ebay for $50. And a new vinyl (i hate leather) wheel for $120 on jeepsareus.com. back when i had my 98 XJ and swapped in a 04 WJ steering wheel.

Most scrap yards wont sell the air bag either. even if you buy a whole column.

Marty; thats one sweet looking jeep you have there!!
