I’m getting ready to clean my 2001 WJ 4.0L engine’s throttle body and want to ask some (probably dumb) questions first.
Since the TB has a cable to the throttle, it is not electronic and manually moving the TB flapper valve will not screw up, correct? Assuming I don’t try to open it too far.
Also, should I disconnect the battery while I’m doing this to help the PCM reset?
Has anyone had a high idle problem after cleaning a TB and how did you fix it?
Any other cautions or tips before I do this? I also plan on using throttle body cleaner instead of carburetor cleaner and cleaning the IAC too.
