Trailer Tow Group IV on 2014 JGC

My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 Diesel has the "Trailer Sway Damping" as standard equipment and the Trailer Tow Group IV optional equipment, which includes Rear Load Leveling Suspension, Full Size Spare, 7 Pin Wiring Harness and Class IV Receiver Hitch. The dealer has no idea if this package also includes the electric/automatic trailer brake controller. Dealer said "check with the trailer sales guy, he'll know." There goes the confidence level in those peoplel Anyone know the right answer?

BTW, mileage over the first 3,000 miles is 26.6mpg. Not uncommon to get 30-31 on a flat hwy at 65. Will find out soon enough what a 4,000 pound trailer does to fuel economy.

I have that tow package on my 2014 Limited V6; no controller but in the glove box is a little pigtail that I think is for one that you would add. The info is probably buried somewhere in that 600 page owners manual...

I found my wiring harness, too. Finally found an installation manual for a Mopar brake controller. Basically the plug on the harness goes into a plug under the steering column behind a small door that hides other stuff. The brake controller then mounts there on the small door and you will be able to see the lights flash, etc. and adjust the electrical settings to the trailer brakes for automatic braking. I guess you can hit manual and lock everything up for a smoking start... Will hook up the system next week when we visit the trailer company to pick up our 17' camper.
