So you're going to have a set of components on the doors, a set in the kicks, and a set in the dash... What do you mean when you say rear deck?

A stereo set up for sound quality will only have one set of drivers reproduction a certain frequency range. For example, tweeter (6khz-20khz), mid-range (500hz-5khz), mid-bass (80hz-400hz), sub woofer (20hz-60hz).

You're going to have 6 speakers per side all arriving at your ears at different times (and that's without any integration of sub woofers or rear fill). It's going to sound very confusing to say the least.

I'm not trying to deter you from your original plans, but I'd hate to see you install all that gear only to have something much simpler blow it out of the water.

Hell you could get the best of the best if you were to sell all that gear. Scan Speak Revelators Series (it would put any boxed speaker set to shame).

They aren't cheap by any means, but they are a thing of beauty.

They can be seen here in JL's home audio tower

Re: What an Awesome resource

Matt, you bring up a very valid points and I built my motorcycle company solely on that platform.. Quality over Quantity... Less is always more... and i will try to sit down tonight and write a response for you that I think everyone reading this thread will benefit from. I just do not have the time this afternoon to address the issue properly. When i said this instal was for me and not for shows I guess that was not totally accurate. I am looking for my next professional move and incorporating automotive services into my motorcycle company is going to part of that. So this vehicle will ultimately represent a portion of all the services the new entity will offer. One thing I learned from my experience with my motorcycle company is that the general public, by in large, has no real interest in Quality and the market is more driven by "Show" not "GO". I was voted one of the top 10 builders in the Country back in 2003 and my bikes started at 60K and more often than not landed in the 85k-90K arena. I will post some pics later and you will see what i mean...but in short, the public drifted to the gaudy paint jobs and unridable geometries and name recognition than to Quality and Performance.. Argh...gotta go...lol... i will finish my rant tonight...lol...and at the end of the day...I kinda want to indulge a little in the "Show" aspect for a while...I do appreciate your opinion greatly though Matt...talk to ya guys later

Sounds great.

FYI: I worked in the harley aftermarket for about 6 years as parts/sales for an aftermarket shop. 1990-96 He was old school, still in business on Long island. Know more for engines now, he can build anythihng in house and has the dyno room in the middle of the parking lot to prove what he builds.

Anyway, let me know via PM whats up. Ill be happy to get my hands dirty and learn stuff. Especially on YOUR Jeep

ooh, I gotcha. Yeah, that certainly changes things. If you're trying to show off the fab skills and whatnot then you are choosing a very good route. And the fact that you are going to incorporate car electronics into your current gig means you want something the "general public" or average customer can relate to; that certainly won't be an actively managed stereo set-up.

This WK build should be bad ass to say the least! I'm excited to see the progress and I better see pics! Actually, once things really get going you should start a build log for all of the stuff you are doing. Would be cool to document the transformation.

Sounds great, can see your very motivated. So what type of "automotive services" are you getting into, stereos, fabrications, motors, or anything someone can dream up? Sounds like after designing and building bikes you can def incorporate it into the auto market. Good luck with the new venture.
