Not sure if I'm in the right place or doing this correctly, but here it goes.

I recently (about 2 weeks ago) purchased a 05 Wk limited really nice looking  and decided to make a built thread for this one since I did not make one for the wifes Xk or my prevous WK.

So here we go:
1st I purchased a set of unused 2014 Rubicon wheel/tire takeoffs (new style) brand new, then I ordered a 3.5 lift with Rusty's spacers. I started to do the install on the lift on Saturday but when it came to remove the bolt from the strut fork at the bottom the darn thing was turning with the bushing still stuck to it, so I had to cut the fork (since I wasn't going to use it) then after a little struggling with the bushing and bolt it finally came out. Since no local parts store had it it took 2 days before I got it and try to install it. long story short I finally installed the front and rear spacers and mounted the wheels/tires late (11:30pm:D ) last night not sure if the neighbors liked that idea, but o well the jeep now looks awesome.

I will take pictures and upload if possible.
Will keep updating as I go.

Here is a quick picture I took Saturday after a day of driving around :D.

I did take some pictures of the install and the messed up bushing that was the reason it took me a little longer to complete.

I'll add several shots of the new look, later this week. I loved the way it looks and my wife is just as excited to take it out to the beach to cruise around in the sand :D
Let me konw what you guys think so far.

thanks

Decided to change the wheels to the JK moab surfaced finish and I liked it better. Looks a lot cleaner and when clean, those wheels shine really nice. Will post pics later....
Also, looking to add a roof rack with an led lightbar....maybe for Christmas!

Decided to modify the grill on the jeep this weekend. The kidos loved that idea since they would get a chance to play with my tools and run around outside :D . Here are some pics I took... The before, the in between and the end result

Also, took my boys for a surprise outing at the beach, they loved it since we were all over the sand dunes and they had the chance to take videos of the jeep going up and passing different obstacles. Take a look at the pics

Note the moab wheels, I decided that the other wheels didnt fit to well with my liking so I sold those and bought me this machined set, when clean they shine up pretty good!

I really just didn't like the look, I've seen these wheels on grey Wk's and they look nice, but just wasn't liking the look on mine because of the color. I got these moabs on a really good deal and moved on them, I really like the look better. After I installed the lift, I did put on the wheel spacers because of the size of the tires, they were rubbing inside , I just kept the same spacers and everything has worked out ok with no issues.
If you do decide to get a set, you will have to get wheel spacers, because of the tire size.

255/75R17 they say these are like 32's
These are the standard BFG's MT's that come with the Rubicon's.

Decided to tackle replacing the isolator bushings from the front axle this weekend. I had already done this on my wife's XK a couple of years ago, so I knew what a pain it would be :(. It would all be worth while because now the shifting is smooth as I knew it would be:thumbsup:. It took me a total of 7 hrs to complete the job and now I know I have bushings for a while.

On a separate note: Also installed rear tail/stop/turn LED lights to the bumper for better visibility (kind of like the rear fogs in the SRT models). I had already done this to a previous WK I had and like the look, so I decided to do the same with this one. I will post a picture later to showcase the work.

Not the type of mod I wanted, but with the family and the hot summer I just had to replace the evaporator core, expansion valve, dryer and fan clutch, because the A/c was acting up so decided this needed to be replaced. With the help of a friend we did this in one day, but it was quite a bit of work since the entire dash board has to come apart to reach the evaporator core
The initial diagnosis was just to replace the evap core, expansion valve and dryer, but once we were there we noticed a little play in the fan clutch, so just decided to replace it since we were already there to help keep the engine cool

I'm glad we did this and the A/C works awesome now!

I have these led lights and 14" light bar that I want to install, but still haven't figured out where exactly they will go.

Also on another note, I will be working on the rear brakes of the Jeep because they will need to be replaced, so will look into replacing rotors, pads and the parking brake pads/cable too. When completed I'll post pictures of that too.

I believe the manufacturer is Heavy Metal and yes its the extended strut fork but haven't really noticed a big difference. Its worked really good for me and haven't had any issues up to now. I have owned both types of lift and they both work the same to me, not much difference.

Haven't posted anything in a while, and my Jeep had been down since a little before Christmas, the fuel pump gave out . So was getting tired of letting it sit there and just rest for a while. Finally replaced the fuel pump this Friday and is now back in service :D. Really thought it was going to be a lot harder than it really was, it was actually not that bad and was done in less than 4hrs since i did the work alone! Well now, I'm looking into replacing the stock muffler with a Borla XR-1 muffler, does anyone have any comments about this type of muffler? Does anyone have this installed in your Jeep? Thoughts or comments?

Good to be back!!;)

Also, going to look into the OME HD lift and see if I can add this to my list of items for this year! kind of a long shot for this year, but do want to install sooner than later :D

Well after the new pump was installed, I was ready to head out to the beach for spring break week and have some fun, but the fuel pump gave out....again!!:mad: I still ended up going to the beach, but couldn't take the Jeep.:( Well, I had to exchange the pump because it was defective and so had to remove and replace again! Although, now I wasn't too bothered since I already knew the steps and was easy to do, so I installed the new pump again and started the Jeep last night. :D:thumbsup: I also ordered the Borla XR-1 muffler and should arrive on Monday, but won't have time to have that installed until the following weekend maybe, but at least I will have something ready. So as for the Jeep, its back in business fully functional and ready to ride . Will look into stalling rear aux. lights and the switch plate for rocker switches.
