Sure JeepCoops order delay sucks ass but thats no reason to totally bash the company like that, the guy gave him free shipping on an item where the shipping is probably close to ~100... thats nothing to complain about... its an f'n skid plate, not a new heart.

These public actions ( posting on FB and JG ) run companies into the ground... i'd hate to see 4XGUARD hurt because of less then a handfull of unhappy customers... there arent too many companies out there that make solid products for our WK's.

Not to beat a dead horse, but Im pretty sure that the original owners have sold 4xg and jeepin' by AL guy bought the rights. Hell the website isn't even 4xg website to purchase anything, its a shell that goes to another site http://4xguard.com/ to https://tbr89442.infusionsoft.com/cart/store.jsp from (Link to new store front) and there is a big jeepin by al link on the 4xguard site.

So in short.. this isn't the same company. It's Jeepin' by AL, and I think Al has bit off more than he can chew on orders and getting things done in a timely matter (bitching at contracted shops to get the product made is a pain...)

Would this stop me from buying.. nope... They still make the product and are still making orders. I'd be happy to have more communication about product issues, like hey this didn't come back from powder coat right we have to redo it. Simple updates do wonders.

Now come to find out it finally shipped today so I should have it next week. Finally! Heads up for you Rob! Thanks again for being so patient, you rock!

Still a little communication would'be been nice.

That isn't necessarily their fault, it's the nature of powdercoating, at least in my experience. That's why I'm not a fan of PC on rust-prone metal for automotive use (whether it's paint or powder, rock chips are inevitable). PC is basically a plastic shell around the metal, which is great, until it chips or cracks. One little chip in the coating creates an entry point for moisture to get under the powder and rust seems to spread faster than it would on painted steel. My SuperLift parts that were powdercoated from the factory are rusting already. PC is usually really thin on sharp corners and this was the first area to flake off on mine. On my WJ, my rock sliders looked like crap after one winter, just from daily driving. I prefer paint on rust-prone metal, it holds up better IME.

Some of you guys may disagree, especially if you don't drive in snow (salt). Afterall, this is just my broscience

FWIW, I used black engine enamel to paint my SuperLift components that weren't already powdercoated. The painted parts are doing great. The powdercoated parts: not so much.

Re: 4X Guard

^Id have to agree with you their, a good coat of properly applied rustolium to these things would almost be better. Or some heavy duty bed liner would be cool to!

just a heads up most production powdercoating is crap .....most not all.....some times if you want the bling and or A+ PC you have to have it done by a shop that specializes in it........actually spend the money, or just spray paint it ......

Re: 4X Guard

I think he just bit off more than he can chew. There are tons of us who have been wanting more 4XG stuff and when we finally got it, we inundated him w orders. ME included! Hahah He'll work out the kinks...if he wants to keep the bidness afloat!
