Re: Before & after pics of emu 2" lift

Your jeep looks great with that setup. I am thinking about getting the OME kit. I noticed a lot of people say that the OME kit adds more than 2in's but when i was looking at the pics it looks like it was right at 2in's. Any ideas about that? Just trying to get an idea of what to expect.

Jeep looks great!

John-R --
I have had OME HD's for almost 2 years and have over 50,000 on them. I've done mild to some more "heavy Mild" off road have had no problems what so ever.
I originally got over 3" and I am still over 3" Not sure how much over it may have sagged some.

In my opinion if you are getting a lift this is the way to go. I would also suggest sticking with OME shocks/struts as they ride great and have more travel than any others.

I have HD, the ride maybe a little stiff to some, but I am used to it and love it.
As said earlier if you are towing or adding armor I would also suggest HD.

Re: Before & after pics of emu 2" lift

What size are those tires?

I am doing the Daystar 2" leveling kit from Kolak.

I am curious of Jeep Sahara Wheels with 255/70/18 Dueler AT will fit.

Also I har od people using spacers. Is everyone using hubcentric spacers or somethign like these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Whe...Q5fAccessories

just seems like these cheapies would lead to issues.

255/75/17 BF Goodrich MT KM1's will fit with just the bolt cut, no spacers, no pinch weld, on stock the stock WK wheels. I've seen one like that already.

Re: Before & after pics of emu 2" lift

I am running 265/70/17 with a heavy duty OME kit, I had some rubbing but that has worked its way out now. I also developed a nasty squeak on my right side upper control arm but i managed do drill a small hole in the bushing, heated it up with a propane torch and lubricate it, it went away. this may have been caused my additional stress or different angles.

Oh and If you want to mount a brand new 265 tire to replace your stock 245 spare, it is not going to happen unless your cut some of your trailer hitch and bolts. You can get away with no cutting if you buy a used 265 with little tread left for a spare, i did.

Re: Before & after pics of emu 2" lift

Looks as if he got almost 5" of lift with the combination of the tires. I'm doing the same OME with the same tire. No spacers, stock wheels.

Re: Before & after pics of emu 2" lift

Couldnt you get it to fit if you deflated the spare tire?

Re: Before & after pics of emu 2" lift

Does anyone know if I could get away with buying the 3" OME springs to replace my existing springs for my 2006 jeep grand Cherokee without replacing the shocks or anything else until later? I want to lift it enough to fit 255 or 265 mud terrains. thanks for any input on this matter

Re: Before & after pics of emu 2" lift

heres mine installed tuesday, OME HD, JBA upper control arms (repainted yellow to match rest of lift), 3/8" spacer plates on front from RRO. stock tires, went with HD cause i haul a canoe on top in the suumer that weighs 75lbs. waiting for tires my upper ball joints where shot as well as my shock would groan thats the reason i did now, my foretta triple tread still have 30000 miles left on them so leave them on for now.
