Looks like a blast! I miss wheeling in big groups and in the snow! Are those the mopar rock rails? Not too rugged huh?

Yes they are the Mopar rails, List price is like 450 bucks so they are the cheapest option out there and as you can tell by the damage they MORE than did their job! Not to mention its the only option that hangs below the body unlike the more expensive 4xguard (don't get me wrong I would love a set of those) but considering all the crap hanging below the frame on the WK its nice to have a little more protection down there too.

If you consider the curb weight of the WK at almost 5000lbs then add in me, 2 other passengers and gear that is A LOT of weight to slide 2 feet down a slick root into a rock or other root to be caught by single tube The hits that did this damage were never just bumps they were some solid hits with some serious motivation behind them. All the major damage to them was done away from the mounts, ever where there was a mount is solid and free of major damage intact, its just between the mounts with little structure to help where they took the worst of the structural damage.

Re: Browns Camp area Tillimook State Forest, OR

I am sure they did their job and did it well. I was not trying to say that they were inferior in any way either. I was just surprized that they dented at all. from my past experiences with rock rails they were 1/8th or 3/16ths thick and pretty much nothing can touch them. I made the rock sliders on my XJ out of 3/16th and they took alot of abuse. I was just hoping that the mopar sliders would be made a little stronger then that thats all. No harm intended. If anything since i have gone from avid wheeler to stock WK owner with the "potential" for light trail runs i guess the mopar unit would prolly be a good option for me and the majority of WK owners out there that dont really wheel like you do or others.

No worries! Even if you hated them, everyone got an opinion and that doesn't bother me or hurt my feelings I agree that they got munched a bit more than they should have.... Ill pop an end cap off the rail and measure its thickness, they are pretty heavy though!

rocky road has a pair for around 395 that are under mount and they mount to the frame ,also they are twice as thick as your current set up and you have the option for added rails......the look isnt as nice as the 4x and or yours but far stronger than any other company......

Re: Browns Camp area Tillimook State Forest, OR

Thanks guys!

The RR option looks to be pretty decent, I like the mount brackets dont hang down, plus it seems to take on some positives from the mopar rails, the mount system looks a little soft for the abuse a 5k lb vehicle will dish BUT I like how it mounts to the side of the "frame rail" so side blows it will support itself (the mopar has a large flange that butts up to the side but mounts on the bottom of the rail).

Just keep in mind I paid 225 dollars for mine brand new in the box as my parts department was trying to move parts that had been sitting on the shelf and these had been on the shelf since 09 and no one even knew what they were till they ran the part number. I then got the call "hey you have a WK your trying to make look like an off roader right"?
"yes, thanks douche, why"?
"we have some rock rails you will be interested in"
*click... running down to the parts department*

I made sure to pick them up before the opportunity passed

I would take a set of those RRO ones and I am fairly certain I could get a set warrantied
