Wheelin started with watching an 06ish dodge ram slide off a hill being pulled by his trailer... Fortunatly his trailer stopped him from his truck being pulled completley off the edge when it hit a tree, it would have been a long way to fall. This happened when he lost momentum coming up the entrance because other vehicles were in the way, as soon as he stopped moving forward he started sliding backwards and it was all over. I was watching the whole thing unfold... out of respect to the guy whom was probably blaming me and guys I was with for beign in his way I didnt get pictures of this, but it was pretty intense to watch. Ultimately it boggled my mind to not see these guys with chains on, not a single one of them, so Im not sure what they expected driving up a long steep glazed over entrance.
From there we went out, and started hitting the trails... My impressions are the same as my first time out, time and time again I came up on obsticals and time and time again I drove right through many things. It wasnt till later in the afternoon when we were no longer climbing the hills we were going down hills that it got REALLY sketchy, we went down a hill that is a double black diamond going up, with the weight of the jeep and no low low first gear to creep down in this was an uncontrolled slide down these hills banging into rocks and stumps, my rock rails both took a HUGE beating, massive dents and some bends.
Ultimately the snow is fun but I think a bit too stressful for me, hitting a rock or stump and sliding towards a tree or boulder, as I mentioned they took a couple REALLY hard hits that I could just do nothing, I swung as wide as I could but gravity and the slope of the ground the next thing I know I have been slid into a tree, fortunatly most times my rock rails took this beating but my poor passanger rear door took a bad hit.
Please excuse my nasal breathing, I have been fighting a cold all week (naturally) and this cold wasnt helping, I didnt realize how loud my annoying labored breathing was till I was watching these *stupid*. That said, this was a HUGE hill climb that we actually just spent the last 30 minutes coaxing a 4runner up (5k rpms, tires spinning, crap flying). I had to follow this act and did just about as well, fortunatly me picking up the tail I knew I had to go balls out, I think by the top I was in 3rd tires spinnin, rocks, snow and ice flying!
This video is hogs back, The begining of this trail the damn trail filter is what caused the damage I have pictured below, I should have been hanging out my window hugging my side instead I just carefully guestimated my distances all around, bad idea. This was BY FAR some of the most mellow stuff all day, by a very long shot, thus the reason I am filming and driving on this and why there are no videos when Im trying to protect my baby from obsticals and trees...
To the damage Im thinking most of it will pop out by removing the door pannel and pushing out from the inside, there are some scratches down to metal I will need to get a paint pen to fill though.
I also have some gnarly dents in my rock rails, seems the pictures I took are blury as all hell so Ill get some better pics before posting those, the back end of my drivers side bar is pushed in about 2 inches or so and I added 2 huge dents to my passangers side right under the front door. I will NEVER wheel without rock rails on any rig after seeing this damage!
Oh yeah one more for good measure, this was an overly polite young man driving into the ditch to get out of me and my partys way... he drove into the ditch then up the slope, just a bit to high and it layed it on its side. best part is the passanger dropped onto the driver ha ha. Really the best part was with some of the guys in their party and some from mine they were able to tip it right back up and there was almost no damage (lucky)
Now its time for a long shower and my pillow is calling my name!
Oh, btw, the rear mud flaps are off, I ripped one off. I wasnt a huge fan of em but was given them for free and decided to wear them for a couple days to see how I liked them, seems the trail decided for me, they are gone If anyone wants them you can have em for shipping.
No I feel you, poor jeep! When we first got to the browns camp a lady came up to me saying "you got guts to wheel that thing". Ultimately I explained to her that I got it for a smokin deal and didn't have a lot invested into it. She told me she had a 04 overland lifted 6" at home but she was riding with her husband in his ZJ because they didnt want to pay for gas for 2 rigs... about 20 minutes later before we hit the first trail he pulled up next to me and said "you bought that for 1000 bucks"? I told him what it needed done and what I did to it then he said "ill trade you for an 04 overland I have at home"... the one his wife was talking to me about being hers just minutes before ha ha.

The snow was fun but man these trails are tight and there is no worse stress than being stopped 12" from a tree, releasing the brake and applying light throttle as required and feeling the weight of the jeep just slip right towards the tree. the dirt/mud from spring summer fall months will probably be what I keep it to from now on. (see pictures in the next post I am doing, I pretty much killed my rock rails, the first time I went out I scraped them once or twice, I HAMMERED them this time out.

Thank you! I still need to get it up in the air at work there were a handful of times that I just didnt have enough ground clearance and felt an obstical from the initial bump till it was beyond my rear axle both loose rocks as I fell down crazy declines and just driving trails there were 1 or 2 spots that had a big boulder I couldnt avoid period that I just had to get over, some spotter/onlookers in the group help out how they could throwing rocks in holes but whatever they did wasnt going to give me another 2 inches of ground clearance.
