Re: CB Radio for Off road purposes

I use some of the same stuff on my WJ, and I like it. Good reception with firestick, I do however run the CB through an AUX input on the stereo for sound though. I can never get good sound out of cobra. Not a big deal to me though.

I have that cobra with that fire stick and that sagura mount. Love it! And it is not to pricy.

Re: CB Radio for Off road purposes

bumpin an old thread.

I want to buy a CB and this is the same set up I was thinking about getting. I am sold on the mount and the firestick but I am curious what other CB's folks use and like.

Re: CB Radio for Off road purposes

I ended up getting this one http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-75WXST-4...3281797&sr=8-2. It has worked great for me. Love to use it when there is bad weather and that around the state to help track whats going on.

Re: CB Radio for Off road purposes

Where do you guys plan on mounting the radio? In my WJ I had it in the center stack cubbyhole. In my WK I was going to mount it in the left-of-steering-wheel cubby hole but the adjustable pedals switch is there. I was thinking about relocating the pedal switch then molding the radio face plate into the older style cubby hole... if I can find a paint that matches the interior color.

Re: CB Radio for Off road purposes

not sure yet, I don't want to use the cubbyhole because I want to mount my switches there at some point.

Re: CB Radio for Off road purposes

Throw that little guy in the center counsel and then modify alittle hole for the hand piece to stick out of.

Re: CB Radio for Off road purposes

Bump again for a good thread. I really like the idea of using the AUX to run the CB through the radio. When i get around to installing my cb i would like to do the same thing though i want to re locate the wires for the AUX input just behind the knee panel so i can switch out between different aux input items if needed w/o removing the radio. also doing a magnetic antenna so it can be removed easily instead of a firestick at least for now since i dont get to use my CB enough to make it worth having a permanently mounted antenna.

Anybody have a CB mounted in a WK that is not located in the cubby hole? I can't decide where to put mine.
