Re: Finally installing my OME

Looks great! I also had issues with the front end when installing my lift, ending up replacing a ball joint and tie rod end, it was a mess haha, did you notch the fuel tank skid? I did to make sure I had room back there!

I figured I might as well replace the lower ball joints while I had it apart - didn't make sense not to do it, they were only $30-$35 per side. I didn't notch the skid, I thought about it, but may go back later.

Yes, indeed! JBA UCA's have a lot of camber built in (couldn't imagine the ball joint angle on the stock UCA's with the OME), plus the servicable ball joint was a great addition.

There was a little play in both the uppers and lowers. I have been chasing a phantom clunk since I bought it (service records of the previous owner showed he was chasing it too). Knock on wood, but as of today (and replacing just about everything) its quiet. I did have 77k on all of the parts.

Re: Finally installing my OME

When did the knock occur? These steering rack are pretty worthless. Same ones they put in the Nitro and Caliber. I've changed mine out twice now for rack rod failure causing a knock when turning sitting still from right to left. As well as a clunk when accelerating.

I had a clunk when pulling into a drive way or parking spot, most often it would occur at full lock. It was intermittent and hard to isolate, so I just threw parts at it
