Measure from the center of the hub to the fender instead of fender to ground. That will give you a more accurate measurement of the actual lift, I'm betting you'll be around the 21.5" +/- measurement everyone else gets with that lift. Everything looks fine from the pics you provided.
Also, you could go down to a 1.25" or try an Ebay 1" spacer thats still hub/wheel centric instead of the spidertraxx. I have the same size as you, and agree that it does throw more stuff up on the sides with the tires sticking out, but I've never had a real problem with rocks or dirt harming anything from it. Just gets things a bit more messy at times. It's a Jeep, it's supposed to get dirty
