Thanks for the reply! I'll probably go Mopar rock rails and wheels with Dratracs. Front end protection later if I think I really need it. Our Overland is the mule for our VMI Offroad trailer.

Nice trailer! Yeah, I think I am going with the Duratracs too. I already spent all my Tax return money so I am waiting for my bonus next month for the next group of puchases and wheels and tires are first on the list. :-)

Update

Time for an update...So since my last post I have done a few new things and had a few new issues...

First off, I got my ACC/FCW protection plate back from the custom fab shop. It looks good and works well but I probably would change the design a little if I had to do it again...

Next, I ordered all the badges, grill rings and tail light bezels in black. This was not cheap but I was/am not happy with the plasti dip. I left the plasti dip on the window trim, fog light surrounds and lower trim for now. I still don't like it but until I have a chance to take it in to get vinyl wrapped, it will have to do.

So during this time I had taken a couple off road trips and on my trip the weekend before last, I popped my first tire. I might have been going a little fast and hit a dip, the Jeep bounced a couple times and must have hit a rock when coming down on one of the bounces because immediately after my instrument cluster lit up with a low tire pressure warning and it kept dropping. I pulled over in a turnout and when I switched out the tire with the spare I saw a 2" long gash in the sidewall where it must have hit a rock. The bad news...I needed a new tire.

The good news...I get to order the new wheels and tires I wanted! So I ordered everything last week. I picked up the wheels on Friday, got them and the new tires installed Monday! I love the look with the new set up! Sooooo much better! I went with 18" +12 RD04 Wheels from Red Dirt Road and 275/65R18 116S Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. I do caution that this set up does cause some rubbing (which may facilitate another mod in the future that I was already thinking about doing...). The rubbing is on the fender and not the liner. It is minor and only occurs in the lower suspension modes and only when turning and on large dips at high speed. No real damage from the rubbing just an annoying noise when it does occur. The mod I alluded to earlier would be cutting the fenders and putting some aftermarket fender flares on, a la the Easter Jeep Safari concepts that Jeep did, but it will require some deep research as a few Google tries and a couple hours of searching has turned up very little help on how to do this mod.

Relatively Soon in the Future planned Mods:
Remove plasti dip and vinyl wrap remaining platinum trim
Customtronix Jailbreak
Add LED off road lights
Fender Flares (if I can figure out how to do it)

Here is the only picture I could find of the ACC/FCW protection plate and also some pictures of the finished product (for now) from Monday afternoon.

Re: Jeff's "Black Widow" Build

Here is an update of my original list:

Definite Mods Being Done Immediately:
-Rocky Road Outfitters' Bumper Bar [Installed]
-Rocky Road Outfitters' Brush Bar Kit [Installed]
-Rocky Road Outfitters' Adventure Rack w/Axle Mount, Can Carriers, Lightbar, HiLift Mount & Ax/Shovel Dual Mount [Installed]
-Rocky Road Outfitters' Pre-runner Skidplate [Installed]
-Rocky Road Outfitters' Supersliders [Installed]
-Smittybilt XRC9.5 Winch w/Synthetic Line [Installed]
-Front Tow Hooks [Installed]
-Chief Products Sump Protection Plate [Ordered and Shipped]
-Chief Products Transmission Protection Plate [Ordered and Shipped]
-Custom Start/Push Button (By Forum Member JeepJunkie) [Installed]
-Factory Skidplates [Installed]
-Swapout Summit Honeycomb Grill Inserts with Black [Installed]

Definite Mods Being Done Sometime Soon (Hopefully):
-New Aggressive Tires (possibly an 18" wheel to replace the stock 20") [Installed]
-Blackout All Chrome/Platinum Trim & Badging [Installed]
-Paint Select Trim Red for Pop (possibly foglight bezels, grill rings, calipers and maybe something in the rear and/or on the sides)
-Off Road Lights (LED lightbar and LED lights, not sure on manufacturer/model yet) [Probably next on the list to be ordered]

Probable Mods:

-Lockpick for Nav/Camera/Screen Mirroring [Should be moved to Definite]
-Front Camera(s) [Will be done with the lockpick]
-Chief Products Pre-Runner (If it looks better and offers better protection than RRO's)

Wishlist:
-Escort 9500ci w/ Laser ShifterPro Sensors

Some other things I am thinking about:
-Replacing the RRO Supersliders with the MOPAR Rocksliders
-Custom Cut-In Fender Flares to Give Better Clearance for the New Tires

Also, I could use some help with planning which parts to make red. I called this build "Black Widow" because I planned on all black with a couple red highlights and I still do but I have to admit, I do like the all black look too. So far the things I am thinking about making red are as follows:
-Brake Calipers
-Tow Hooks
-Fog Light Surrounds (this would be a vinyl wrap)
-Aluminum Hawse Fairlead
-Maybe the Lower Front Fascia Trim that was Platinum Colored (this would be a vinyl wrap)
-Maybe the Lower Rear Fascia Trim that was Platinum Colored (this would be a vinyl wrap)

Also, one of the lightbars I am looking at is the KC Hilites Flex LED (With red bezels) See here: Flex LED lights and LED light bars for Off road UTV, ATV and Trucks | KC HiLiTES

Again I would love to hear some opinions on what should/shouldn't be red. Thanks!

Re: Jeff's "Black Widow" Build

So I ordered some more goodies this week and it looks like most of them came in. I am hoping the lights get here by tomorrow as well. I don't know when I will get around to installing the lights though, as I have to do some serious planning for my wiring harness, switches, camera, etc... I want to do it all in one shot with one harness so I don't have loose wires all over the place. Here is a list of the things I ordered this week:

-Scepter Plastic Water Can (5 Gallon)
-Scepter Plastic Diesel Can (5 Gallon)
-KC HiLites Cyclone Accessory Light (x2 for Underhood Light)
-KC HiLites Flex Dual LED Light System (x2)
-KC HiLites 20" Flex Array LED Light Bar
-KC HiLites 6" Pro-Sport Gravity LED (x4)
-TRED 1100 Off Road Recovery Device

I also included a few pics of some of the items. The Flex LED's have changeable bezels and I will be getting the red ones to go with the theme of my Jeep.

Thanks! I will go though everything and post a new list later today or this weekend.

Also, a question for anyone who is reading this...In the pictures 2 posts above this there is a picture of the TRED 1100 recovery tracks I bought. My thought is to somehow mount the 2 tracks to the underside of my roof rack...Does anyone have any ideas on how I should mount them? My first thought was to just use a cable lock. Or maybe use the cable lock in conjunction with a velcro strap or something of that nature. Any and all ideas are welcome...
