I think you will like the winch set up. I love it even though I haven't really had to use it yet (knock on wood). Another build you may want to check out is Zybane's Arctic Diesel Build. He did alot of the same mods before I did. About off roading sometime, I would love to. I try to go once a month or so. I am actually doing Joshua tree this weekend with my Dad and nephew. PM me sometime and we'll plan a trip!

Now that i think about it, i have seen Zybane's Arctic Diesel Build. It just seems like he hasn't updated it in some time. I am just glad to see someone else going all out on their WK2. Please post new photos of your light setup, i am dying to see how it looks! I'll PM you once i get a few mods done so we can go off roading.

I think the reason for the lack of updates from Zybane is because he is deployed via military duties...So it's understandable.

Also eager to see the lighting setup, Jeff!

Re: Jeff's "Black Widow" Build

I still haven't taken any good pictures of what the lights look like on the Jeep but I do have a couple that show them. And I have some pictures I took this past weekend of the illumination on a dark dirt road in Joshua Tree (some of them came out a little blurry). I am posting everything I have right now below and I will add some more when I get some better pics...

Re: Jeff's "Black Widow" Build

Having trouble attaching pictures of the road illumination. The "manage attachments" window keeps timing out. I will try again later.

Edit: Well it looks like two of them posted anyway, lol. #1 is normal headlights only, #2 is headlights and high-beams. I will post the other photos in a little while.

Re: Jeff's "Black Widow" Build

Finally got the pictures to post! I didn't realize that there was a file size limit and had to reduce the size of these pictures. I tried to get several combinations of lights on, sorry if some of the pictures are blurry. The lights on in the pictures are as follows, left to right, top to bottom:

1) KC Hilites 6" Pro-Sport Gravity LED Pair Pack System (Spot Beam on Roof)

2) KC Hilites 6" Pro-Sport Gravity LED Pair Pack System (Spread Beam on Roof)

3) All four of the KC Hilites 6" Pro-Sport Gravity LED lights together

4) KC Hilites FLEX Dual LED System (x2, Spot Beam on RRO Bumper Bar)

5) KC Hilites FLEX Array LED 20 Light Bar Combo System (Spot/Spread Beam, on RRO Bumper Bar)

6) The two KC Hilites FLEX Dual LED System lights PLUS the KC Hilites FLEX Array LED 20 Light Bar Combo System

7) All of the lights mentioned above combined

8) All of the lights mentioned above combined PLUS headlights and high-beams

Re: Jeff's "Black Widow" Build

Just ran out and took some quick pictures while at work so you could see the lights on the Jeep. Don't mind the dirt or the front camera (I just temporarily installed it for off-roading last weekend, it will look much better when I permanently install it). Also, the bezels on the lower lights will be changed to red as soon as KC starts selling the bezels (I was told they would be on sale a week ago and still nothing on their website yet).

It's been said before but I'll say it again, that is one bad-ass build! Love all the pictures and updates.

Re: Jeff's "Black Widow" Build

Wow, crazy build. I love the front end on this Summit! If I may ask, what sort of mpg's does the ecodiesel still get with the tires and front end and rack mods?

I'm in El Cajon and am picking up an Ecodiesel Summit next weekend from OR. I'd love to go for a ride in yours sometime to see how those tires ride, I was thinking about getting some.

Re: Jeff's "Black Widow" Build

Jeff,

How did you go about mounting your adaptive cruise control camera back onto the RRO bumper? I installed my RRO bumper / winch, but i can't seem to get the ACC camera to align with the lower bumper. I know you're using the RRO skid plate, but i am curious about what hardware you used to mount the ACC camera.

Thank you,

Re: Jeff's "Black Widow" Build

Thanks for the kind words guys and sorry it has taken so long to respond, but I was on a much needed vacation to Hawaii the last 2 weeks. I am glad that you think the dissemination of the info is good, sometimes I feel like I am rambling a bit and including useless tidbits that nobody cares about or needs, lol.

farfromovin: I am actually moving back to OC permanently this coming up weekend. If you would like to meet up sometime this week before I move, I would be more than happy to take you for a ride. Otherwise, you might have to make the trip up to the OC to get a ride...
