Hey guys, relatively new to the forum and jeep world. Im thinking about lifting my 07 laredo. Nothing major just like 2 inches to level it out and gain some clearance for new wheels and tires. Id like to know what you guys think is the best kit to do this. Probably going to go with some Mamba MR1s and 265/70/17 A/T tires when i do the lift. The jeep is my daily driver and will be used mainly for city/highway driving, wont be doing much if any wheeling so the lift is mainly for looks and clearance.

I would suggest the Rough Country lift. It's all metal and about $160 I believe. How many miles do you have? It may be time for new shocks and struts while you have everything apart. I would also suggest Bilsteins if you decide to replace those also. They greatly improved my handling and comfort.

well the lift will run you about 150... then shocks and struts.. would recommend the bilsteins.. so they would go for another 300 aproximately. porbably close to 700 on tires. and whatever the mambas cost.. probably around $1500 approx. in parts.

Yeah you could do that. You don't have that many miles on you Jeep, but it would suck to have to disassemble for new struts after 10,000ish more miles. If it were me, I'd save so more money and do it all at once so I wouldn't have to do pretty much the same job twice.

Listen if you have no desire to off road and main purpose is just to fit the 265/70/17 on, then I would highly recommend leaving the suspension alone and just modifying the pinch weld. With that one modification and the Mamba Mr-1's you can fit the 265/70/17 with no problems. IMO there is no need to put the wear and tear on your front end if you do not plan on taking it off road.

However if you are dead set on lifting it, then ask your self if you like a little rake or you prefer level. If you want level, then the RC is the way to go. If you want to keep a little factory rake, then I would recommend the Rocky Road Outfitters 2.25 inch lift. Either way go with the Bilstein HD's on all 4 corners.

If you go with the RRO, Bilstiens, Mambas and 265/70/17 then you will look something like this:

Alright so a little update, i ordered the RC 2" lift and the Mamba MR1, both should be in next week. Now i need to decide on a tire, ideally i want the BFgoodrich All-terrain ta's but those are price. So do you guys have any suggestions on a tire, i want something that is aggressive looking like the BFGs

General grabbers and the cooper a/t are cheaper. The grabbers are similar to the BFG at

I've never ran them before but I've heard they were pretty good. Where did you see them fail? They have 60000 mile tread warranty which is nice if you're not wheeling at all and drive a good bit

So do the coopers I believe

Several guys I used to wheel with all loved them because they were cheap. They told me I was nuts to spend the money on BFG's, the generals were just as good, blah blah blah. They all run BFG's today because the Generals were ripping to shreds, and I am not talking while rock crawling or anything extreme. Just your basic off roading. After seeing it first hand, you couldn't pay me to run them.

Cooper AT3s! ... these are great. look real agressive and multiple people on here along as myself can vouch for their performance.. theyve gotten me through on ice, snow, mud, gravel.. just so good especially for the price. and even better for your situation.. they are practically silent on hwy.. trust me. I commute 35miles to work one way all hwy.

Well the mamba mr1's are on back order for another 1-2 months because they're still in production and have to pass all the tests. Thinking about getting my money back and looking for a different wheel. Any suggestions, im only looking to spend around $600-$800 for the set, not including tires.

Hope I'm not hi-jacking this, but I don't see the point in starting a new thread to ask essentially the same thing.

I've been racking my brain about what to do with my WK, so I was hoping to get some help with the scenarios I'm kicking around...

I love how the 285's look with the OME, the squatty look is so sick; but I don't have the money for all that, well, I do, but I'm also trying to buy a house in the fall and feel like thats more important. So here's my options at this point:

- RRO 2.25 with 1.5 spridertrax and 265/70/17 Cooper ATP's and adding Bilsteins soon after
- No lift, pinch weld, pintlers or MR1's, same tires, again adding bilsteins.
- Save up till next spring and do the OME with 285's

I think the 265's with no lift will accomplish that squatty look I like, but I can't decide.

I won't be doing any crazy wheeling, just some fairly rough trails to go fishing and hunting and getting to some trails to hike and all that kinda stuff. It's my DD also...

Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot. Your a big help. My priorities have recently changed with probably getting engaged soon and looking at houses, but i still really wanna get my wk off the ground a little and have a more aggressive look. Plus the ground clearance will help during hunting season. Looks like i have some decisions to make

Re: The Official Lifted WK Thread

Does anyone know if you can run a Daystar 2" spacer lift AND an OME 2" HD suspension lift together? I've currently got the OME HD 2" lift, 3/8" front strut spacers, the pinch weld mod done, 1.5" spacers and 265/70/17's and need just a little more clearance to have my wheels clear the front fender wells when I bottom out.

You certainly can but you are going to give yourself nothing but problems if you do.

That OME HD lift nets you 3 inches, you should be able to clear 285/70/17 without any problems. What are your hub to fender measurements?
