Lift in the making

Ok, so I ordered the RRO 2.5" kit. Got that in the mail last week, just ordered my extended sway bar links from bwoody BWP Automotive Concepts

For those interested in the link.

They are running a special on phone orders. Free shipping n color choice.
Color can save u $20-40. So that's nice however I didn't choose a cool color just got the wrinkled black. Didn't care pop!!

Hopefully it gets here by the end of the week and maybe I can install this weekend. Gonna try n do a detailed install guide will c how it works out.
Any help with required tools prior would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Lift in the making

Got the lift in, also order the trim kit with it get a lil more out of it.. Again I think this is last part I'll order from RRO. It's not that the parts r bad "minus the roof rack" just the fact that everything is painted and not that well I might add. The trim kit pieces were like 95% painted. I just hope the paint chip off easy and cause rusting issues down the way

Re: Lift in the making

Just got my links in the other day. Dealer quoted about 250 after 20% discount.)))...to install everything. Debating if I want to go that route or do it myself. Nothing bolt on is difficult. My only thing is messing with the springs after lift is in. Well c!!!

Re: Lift in the making

So the RR trim kit gives you an additional 3/8" of lift in the front, correct? Did you install that yourself? Thinking about buying that for my WK2 (2014 Laredo E with ORA1 and Tow package).

Re: Lift in the making

But yes it's just an additional metal plate that goes on top of the spacer kit.

Holy sh! T is this lift a pita.. took the jeep to shop on base, we got lifts n every tool u can think and the man in charge is fellow jeeper.. took me 7 hours to do just the rear... biggest complaint was the simple things.. the bottom plate for the rear spacer kit required a 1/2 inch bolt, so u think the plate would be drilled out to 1/2 inch... nope... it was more like 3/8inch.. a lot of man power was needed to install and reinstall a few of the parts... the guys at the shop questioned me about the height of the lift. I told them it was a 2.5 inch lift... joking they replied "looks more like a 4 inch" and it did before the shock had to be jacked and pulled to get back in line for the bolt... alll said and done 7 hrs today maybe 5 hrs tomorrow.. price 50 bucks instead of 250-300... so a lil work is always worth it to me if i can save that much... will definitely need a allingment after finished

Re: Lift in the making

Ok the front was kinda easier but only on the passenger side. Driver was and is still incomplete. After taking it all down and put the kit on the shock, I noticed I dented a bolt tread on the steering connection rod. Aaagh!!!...so sad to say jeep is not finished.
