Lift/tire helllllp....

I have a 2011 Wrangler Unlimited and want a body lift and level. What size tires should I be considering since I am not adding any further lift? I need a MT...

If I were you .... I would find some rubicon springs and shocks maybe some 2" blocks and run 37's . Grab some Mickey thompson MTZ or some Cooper stt2's . That should make a nice set up

This would be faster and easier then a body lift even if you just buy the blocks it would be cheaper then a body lift in the end

Okay, Imma be real honest...I'm a chick and don't know much about lifting/tires and whatever else goes into it. But I know when I am getting in and out of my duck lease, I need tires with some traction, but, I'm 5'2 and don't want to lift it anymore than I have too! haha...sad, yes, I know. Thanks for the info Spyder873...I appreciate it!

No problem , lol. You can get anywhere from 3/4 to 3" blocks . The 3/4 , if just installed in the front should level it up pretty close.

As far as tires go. The ones I listed have good tread ( m/t wise) and should last. You can also look at the bf Goodrich at's they are not as aggressive but still wear like iron.

The difference between the body lift and blocks are.
With a body lift you have to remove all the bolts that hold the body to the frame as with the blocks, they go on top of the springs. ( a little less work) .

Ok ... I am also going to move this to the wrangler section when I am done posting all of this ,lol


Here is a pic of a body lift . This would go between the frame and body. You can get these for about $120 and up ( give or take a little)





here is a spring spacer lift - this one will go on top of the spring . I have seen this for as low as $40 ( 2007-2012 Jeep Wrangler JK - 3/4" Lift Kit (Coil Spring Spacers) - 2008 2009 2010 2011) depending on the height you want price varies. If you are going 1" or more I would suggest you check into new longer shocks maybe needed.



In this pic , you can see the spacer above the spring




In my opinion , You will get more bang for the buck with a spacer then the body. you will maintain the factory ride with this as well .

Here is the Mickey Thompson MTZ's - I have run these in about every situation and I am very please with them


Here are the Cooper Stt 's I have friends who love them as well


and here are the BFG KO all terrains . I have these on my commander and have had great luck with them to this point in both Ice and sand and everything in between

I agree with Spyder, spacers are a much better option. Really though, you need to decide what size tires you want to run before you know how much of a lift you need. You can run 34's stock, but you'll rub if you do any major flexing or at full turn.

If all your concerned about is performance in mud or other loose traction (not rock crawling) a good set of 32 MT's is really all you need. I run Dick Cepek mud countries and they have never let me down. I had procomp MT's before that and never had a problem with them either, they just didn't clean themselves out as well.

Keep into account which gears you're running as well. If they are the 3.73's then you'll be ok running up to a 34 or 35 inch tire, but will lose some power at the bigger end. As long as you have 4 lo it's not really a problem though.

I'd really just recommend getting a good mud terrain tire and don't settle for all terrain. A good radial MT these days lasts just as long and rides as nice anyway.
